Junta chief Min Aung Hlaing continued his tour of resistance stronghold northern Sagaing on Monday, urging residents of Lahe Township in the Naga Self-Administered Zone to cooperate with the military and help “restore stability” in the region.

Min Aung Hlaing arrived in Homalin on Sunday, meeting locals and military personnel and urging the public to work with the military to achieve “stability and development”. His visit follows the military’s recapture of Banmauk, a town near the Kachin border previously held by the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) and allied resistance groups, and comes days after KIA leader Lieutenant General Gun Maw revealed plans to secure three Sagaing Region districts he described as the “gateway to Kachin State.”

Sagaing remains one of the strongest centers of anti‑junta resistance, with multiple townships under the control of People’s Defense Forces and ethnic allies. (Photo: MOI)
