Incidents in Sylhet and Naogaon
In Moulvibazar’s Baralekha upazila, 12 Rohingyas — three men, four women, and five children — were pushed across the Batamoral Panpunji border on Thursday morning. A BGB patrol team detained them immediately. BGB 52 Battalion Commander Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Ariful Haque Chowdhury confirmed they were registered with UNHCR in Bangladesh and were later handed over to police. Baralekha police confirmed the group would be transferred to Ukhiya Rohingya camp in Cox’s Bazar.

Meanwhile, in Naogaon’s Patnitala upazila, 16 people — including four women and five children — were forced into Bangladesh early Friday near Shitalmath border outpost. BGB members detained them from a field in Ghurki village and later handed them over to police for verification. Patnitala police station officer-in-charge Sheikh Enayetur Rahman said their identities are being verified and they will be reunited with their families through the upazila administration.
