The Royal Thai Navy frigate HTMS Kraburi (FFG‑457) arrived at Yangon’s Thilawa Port on Tuesday for a five‑day goodwill visit, junta media reported. The port call is framed as part of routine efforts to maintain bilateral naval ties.
During its stay through April 4, the crew is scheduled to visit major landmarks in Yangon and join friendly sports activities with Myanmar Navy personnel.
The visit comes amid a flurry of recent high‑level engagements between Thailand and Myanmar’s junta. Last month, Thailand’s armed forces chief met coup leader Min Aung Hlaing in Naypyitaw, while a senior adviser to Thailand’s foreign minister held talks with Lower House Speaker Khin Yi and officials from the regime’s Foreign Affairs and Commerce ministries, according to Thailand’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Discussions reportedly covered border trade, cross‑border crime, and Thailand’s stated intention to act as a “bridge” between Myanmar and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations. (Photo: MOI)
