While expanding offensives to retake territories lost to resistance forces across the country, the regime began training the 24th batch of military conscripts at the Myanmar military’s regional commands on Monday, according to the regime-backed People’s Militia Group.
The military is believed to have drafted around 120,000 individuals since enforcing the long-dormant Conscription Law in February 2024, as each batch aims for 5,000 conscripts.
Meanwhile, to meet the quota for each batch, regime authorities are reportedly snatching men from streets, buses and homes for conscription.
